Nailah Jenkins led the way for the Huskies with 11 and 10 kills, respectively, on Friday morning at the Cabot Center, but their offense wasn't enough for Northeastern women's volleyball (2-6, 0-0 CAA) as they fell 3-2 (20-25, 21-25, 25-14, 25-23, 15-12) to Villanova (4-3, 0-0 Big East) in the first game of the Northeastern Tournament.
- Senior setter Samantha Shupe had 38 assists and 20 digs on the day, also adding five kills and a service ace for the Huskies.
- Sophomore middle blocker Marika Virthe was a force at the front, earning one solo block and six block assists while also tallying five kills.
- Freshman outside hitter Rafaella Lepenioti added eight kills on the day.
- Junior libero Kayla Martin helped to anchor the back line with 17 digs, while defensive specialist Sara Kent had 11 digs.
- Serving was a strong suit, as the Huskies tallied eight aces, including three each from Jenkins and Kent.
- The Huskies won the first two sets by four or more points and lost the last two by just two and three points.
