WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Sophomore outside hitter
Defne Arliel tallied eight kills and the defense stood tall with 18 blocks to lead the Huskies volleyball team (6-6, 2-0 CAA) to its second conference win of the season, sweeping the William & Mary Tribe (3-4, 0-2 CAA) on Sunday.
The Huskies stormed out to a commanding 8-0 lead in the first set and did not look back throughout the whole match (25-15, 25-18, 25-17).
- Along with Arliel's eight kills, the sophomore had six block assists and a .294 hitting percentage.
- Junior middle blocker Nailah Jenkins and junior outside hitter Erica Staunton each tallied five kills.
- Junior setter Liz Carroll recorded 24 assists and four kills.
- Junior libero Kayla Martin led the team with 12 digs.
- The Huskies had 18 blocks to William & Mary's six.
