HARRISONBURG, Va. – Despite 17 points from
Jahmyl Telfort, the Northeastern men's basketball team (6-9, 0-4) fell victim to a 59% shooting performance from James Madison (10-3, 1-1) as the Dukes used an big run early in the second half to run away from the Huskies on Tuesday night at Atlantic Union Bank Center, 89-66.

Chris Doherty had double-digit rebounds for the second straight game and seventh time this season (10) to go along with seven points, while
Quirin Emanga reached double-figures with a season-high 12 points on 5-of-9 from the floor.
Glen McClintock added eight points, a game-high five assists and three steals.

Northeastern shot 43% overall (24-of-56), converted 12 of a season-high 37 three-point field goal attempts and outrebounded JMU 33-22, including a 16-2 edge on the offensive glass.

Vado Morse led five Dukes in double-figures with 20 points on 6-of-12 for a James Madison team that finished 29-of-49 overall, 12-of-23 from deep (52%) and 19-of-20 (95%) from the line. He was joined by Charles Falden (18), Julien Wooden (15), Justin Amadi (12) and Takl Molson (11) in double figures.

• The Dukes shot nearly 60% in a first half to take an 11-point lead into the break, 40-29. Falden led all players with 10 points on a perfect 4-of-4 half from the floor as the Dukes shot 50% from deep and collected 14 points off turnovers.

• Northeastern used a 17-5 run over a six-minute span in the opening half to take a six point advantage midway through. The Huskies shot 41% from the floor and 21% from three (4-of-19), led by Telfort's eight points (3-of-6) and Emanga's seven points (3-of-6).

• JMU, though, went on a 15-0 run followed by a 10-0 run to erase the deficit and go up by as many as 14 in the first before a Telfort three knocked it back to 11 late in the first half.

• The Dukes continued to shoot the lights out as the second half got underway, starting 8-of-12 and using a 13-2 run to put the game out of reach.

The Huskies will return home for the first time in nearly one month on Saturday when Northeastern hosts Drexel at 2 p.m. inside Matthews Arena on NESN+ and FloHoops. As a reminder, home games at Northeastern are currently closed to spectators.
