PHILADELPHIA – Kicking off its first conference road trip of the season, the Northeastern women's basketball team (8-5, 2-1 CAA), fell to 2020-21 CAA Champion Drexel (11-2, 3-0 CAA), by a score of 63-50 on Friday night at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.

For the Huskies, freshman guard
Claudia Soriano was light's out shooting in the contest, going 9-18 from the field with a career-high 20 points. Senior guard
Katie May also notched double-digits in the contest with 11 points.
- After Drexel opened the first with a 4-0 run, Northeastern responded back with jumpers from graduate student forward Emily Calabrese and Soriano to even the contest up. Both teams traded points for most of the quarter until the Dragons went on a 7-0 run to take a 17-10 lead at the 1:18 mark.
- The Huskies kept Drexel's lead down to single digits for most of the second, and only trailed 27-24 at the 3:59 mark after a layup by junior guard Century McCartney and a jumper by freshman guard Gemima Motema.
- The Dragons went on an 8-1 run to close the second, and led 35-25 going into halftime.
- Northeastern's defense was stellar in the third, holding Drexel's offense without a field goal for over six minutes. May trimmed the Dragons' lead to 40-34 at the 5:17 mark with a three pointer, but the hosts continued to respond back.
- The Huskies trailed Drexel by only five points on four different occasions in the final quarter. A free throw by Calabrese and a jumper by Soriano cut the lead to 55-50 with 3:03 remaining, but the Dragons sealed the victory by ending the contest on an 8-0 run.
- May also had five rebounds (all defensive), three assists, two blocks and two steals.
- Along with her career-high 20 points, Soriano tallied four steals and two assists.
- The Dragons notched 19 points off Northeastern turnovers.
- The Huskies had a slight edge in the paint, tallying 18 points to Drexel's 14.
- Drexel had 19 points off free throws compared to Northeastern's seven.
