NEWARK, De. – Closing out its first conference road trip of the season, the Northeastern women's basketball team (8-6, 2-2 CAA) fell to Delaware (9-4, 3-0 CAA) by a score of 79-60 at the Bob Carpenter Center on Sunday afternoon.

Emily Calabrese had team-high 18 points, one short of a career-high, and also had a double-digit performance from senior guard
Kendall Currence with 13 points.

Jasmine Dickey and Ty Battle were the story for Delaware. Dickey tallied a game-high 31 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Battle had 15 points and 19 rebounds.
- The Huskies and Blue Hens traded points for most of the first, with neither team leading by more than four. Free throws by Calabrese and a Currence jumper gave Northeastern an 8-4 lead, but the Blue Hens responded right back to knot up the game.
- A three by sophomore guard Maddie Vizza put the Huskies up 11-8 at the 2:22 mark, but Delaware ended up taking the lead right back.
- Freshman guard Claudia Soriano gave Northeastern an early 15-14 lead in the second, but a layup and jumper by the Blue Hens put the hosts up 18-15.
- Northeastern got into foul trouble, which caused Delaware to tally six of its 19 points in the quarter. No Huskies got an opportunity from the charity stripe, which ultimately gave the Blue Hens a 33-23 lead into halftime.
- Delaware led by double digits for most of the third until the 4:48 mark. A Currence three-pointer with 4:18 remaining sparked a Huskies comeback to trim the deficit to 45-38. Northeastern went on a 6-3 run to close the quarter, and only trailed 48-44 going into the fourth.
- An and-one play for Calabrese cut the Delaware lead to 52-49 with 6:58 remaining in the final quarter, but the Blue Hens then proceeded to outscore the Huskies 27-11 to seal the victory.
- Calabrese also pulled down six rebounds and had two blocks.
- Soriano chipped in with eight points and three steals.
- Delaware tallied 26 points off Northeastern turnovers, and 19 off fast breaks.
- The Blue Hens notched 26 points from the charity stripe compared to 12 for the Huskies.
