BOSTON – Led by a second half surge, the Northeastern women's basketball team (9-6, 3-2 CAA) got back to its winning ways with a 68-52 victory over Elon (9-5, 1-3 CAA) on Friday night at the Cabot Center.

Kendall Currence paced Northeastern's offense with 20 points, and senior guard
Katie May, freshman guard
Gemima Motema, and freshman guard
Claudia Soriano each tallied 10 points, respectively.
- The Huskies got off to a quick start with a 9-0 run, highlighted by a May three-pointer and layups by Currence. Elon then proceeded to cut into Northeastern's 11-4 lead with a 6-0 run to cut the deficit to 11-10.
- Each team traded points for most of the second, with neither leading by more than single digits. The Huskies closed the quarter on a 9-0 run, highlighted by a Currence three-pointer and layup to take a 33-25 lead into halftime.
- The Phoenix cut the deficit down to 37-35 at the 7:34 mark of the third, but the Huskies responded back with an and one play by junior guard Century McCartney.
- Elon trailed again by only two at the 1:24 mark of the third (42-40), but an and one play for Currence and a layup at the buzzer by Motema gave the Huskies a 47-40 advantage heading into the fourth.
- Northeastern had a 6-0 run to open the final quarter, highlighted by layups from Currence, Motema, and May to go up 53-40.
- The Huskies led by 18 at the 1:25 mark, and didn't look back in the rest of the game.
- Currence also had three rebounds, and two steals.
- May filled the stat sheet with six rebounds, an assist and two steals.
- Graduate student Emily Calabrese had a team-high nine rebounds.
- Northeastern tallied 34 points in the paint and 16 points off second chances.
