Cherry Wins 500M with NU Top 10 Time to Lead Huskies on Final Day of Competition at BU

RESULTS

BOSTON –
 Freshman Reed Cherry won the men's 500 meter with the third-best time in program history (1:02.95, PB) to lead the Northeastern track and field teams on their final day of competition at the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic on Sunday. 
  • The women's distance medley relay team (Tessa McClain, Nicole Dunbury, Lucinda Shotts and Ava Duggan) placed second with the second-best time in school history (11:44.16).
  • In the men's 1,000 meters, senior Alexander Korczynski took home first with a new personal best and the third-best time in program history (2:22.62). Sophomore Tyler Brogan came in second with the fifth-best time in Northeastern history (2:22.94, PB) and graduate student Bryan Keller rounded out the top three in the event with the seventh-best finish in school history (2:23.70, PB).
  • In the men's 3,000 meters, senior Matthew Schaefer led the Huskies with the seventh-best indoor time in NU history (8:14.20, PB) and freshman Kyle Sarney ran a personal-best time of 8:14.30 to claim the number eight spot on the Northeastern Indoor All-Time list.
 
The Huskies will be back in action at the Crimson Invite on Friday, Feb. 4.
