BOSTON - The Northeastern men's soccer team (3-6-3) begins a short two-game road stint with a midweek matchup against the New Hampshire Wildcats (7-3-0) this Tuesday, October 11 at 6pm. That game from Wildcat Stadium will be broadcast on ESPN+.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- Â SCOUTING THE WILDCATS: New Hampshire started the 2022 campaign ranked in the top 10 of the United Soccer Coaches poll. Despite dropping out of the top 25, the Wildcats are 7-3-0, on a five-game winning streak, and are unbeaten in America East play.
- SHOOTING TURNAROUND: In the last five games, the Huskies have out-shot their opponent 57-27, 24-10 on goal. This comes after being out-shot in seven of their first eight games. Sophomore Federico Tellez and redshirt senior Timothy Ennin sits in the top 10 of CAA strikers with 2.50 and 2.17 shots per contest, respectively.Â
- HOMECOMING: This is the first match up between the two schools since first-year head coach Rich Weinrebe joined the Huskies from New Hampshire, where he spent four years as a player and eight years on the coaching staff under current head coach Marc Hubbard. The Wildcats took a victory from the Huskies 1-0 in last season's match up at Parsons Field.
The Huskies are back in CAA play this coming Saturday, October 15 at 12pm when they travel to Mt. Pleasant, S.C. to face the College of Charleston. That game will be streamed on FloFC.
