NEWTON, Mass. – The Northeastern field hockey team (2-10, 1-0 CAA) dropped a tough road contest to No. 19 Boston College (6-7, 2-2 ACC) today at the Field Hockey Complex in Newton, Mass.
- The Eagles opened the scoring just under four minutes into the contest off a penalty corner to take a 1-0 lead.
- The Huskies answered right back off a penalty corner of their own to tie the game with 8:55 left in the first frame. Kate Blaisdell finished it off for her third goal of the season.
- Just three minutes later, with 5:56 left in the first quarter, Mak Graves found the back of the net off another penalty corner to give Northeastern a 2-1 lead. The goal was Grave's team-leading seventh of the season and the assists were from Sarah Coyle and Maria Armaganian.
- The Eagles would tie the game before the end of the first and add another in the second to take a 3-2 lead into the halftime break.
- Boston College scored all three goals in the second half to cement the 6-2 result.
- Jonna Kennedy made 12 saves in the contest.
- The Huskies were outmatched 18-5 in shots on goal and 16-5 on penalty corners.
- Seven of the eight goals in the game were scored off penalty corner attempts.
The Huskies will be back in action on Friday against No. 25 William & Mary, as they start their five-game CAA stretch.
