Neuner Leads the Women to First-Place Finish, Men Place Four in Top 25

BOSTON – The Northeastern cross country program had the women finish first and the men come in second at the Suffolk Invitational today at Franklin Park. The women had six finishes in the top ten and the men had four in the top-25.

Women (6K)

Madison Neuner won the Suffolk Invitational in the women's 6K event to lead the way for the Huskies with a time of 22:59.
Anna Schaller (23:45), Lucy Abdow (23:48), Silas Rutherford (23:49) and Shannon Trevor (23:54) took the 4-7 spots in that order, and Lauren Trejo took ninth at 23:59.
Lucinda Shotts came in at 24:35 in 18th place and Sarah Petersen placed 23rd with a time of 24:53 to round it out for Northeastern.

Men (8K)

Malav Mehta led the way for Northeastern, finishing fifth with a time of 25:56.
Joseph Thumann (26:33) finished 12th, James Pothier (26:45) finished 14th and Cyrus Kurd came in 20th with a time of 27:11.
The men did not place as a team with only four runners competing.

The Huskies will be back in action on Oct. 28 for the CAA Championships in Newark, Del.
