BOSTON -- The No. 12/14 Northeastern men's ice hockey team (3-2-0) hosts two Hockey East matchups this week at Matthews Arena. The Huskies will faceoff with the Boston College Eagles on Tuesday, Oct. 18 before welcoming the UMass Lowell Riverhawks for a lone weekend game Saturday, Oct. 22. Both games are slated for a 7 p.m. puck drop.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
1. TAMING THE EAGLES: The Huskies have won the last three of four contests with the Eagles with their last matchup coming in the 2021-22 Hockey East quarterfinal game. In the last four contests, Northeastern outscored Boston College by a 11-8 margin, all played during the 2021-22 season. In last season's Hockey East quarterfinals, the Huskies won by a score of 3-2, leading the entire game. Gunnarwolfe Fontaine, Justin Hryckowian and Sam Colangelo all tallied a goal in the victory.
2. HISTORY WITH THE 'HAWKS: The Huskies and the Riverhawks have split the last four contests with Northeastern claiming both victories on the road at Tsongas Center. With the split, Northeastern holds a 10-6 scoring margin over UMass Lowell and recorded a 4-0 shutout in the process. Junior Sam Colangelo has had significant success against the Riverhawks having tallied four points (1g, 3a) in the programs last four matchups. Seniors Aidan McDonough and Tyler Spott both have recorded one goal and one assist in the four contests.
3. FOLLOW THE LEADERS: The Huskies senior leadership continues to hold a presence in the team's success this season. Captain Aidan McDonough has tallied six points (3g, 3a), a team-high, in four games. Junior Gunnarwolfe Fontaine sits just behind McDonough with five points (2g, 3a) this season, having recorded at least one point in the last three games.
