BOSTON - The Northeastern men's soccer team (5-8-3, 3-4-1 CAA) travels to Newark, Delaware this weekend for the regular season finale against the Delaware Blue Hens (4-10-2, 2-5-1 CAA) at 4 p.m. on FloFC.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- WIN AND IN: The Northeastern Huskies (10 points) hold the 6th place spot in the CAA - with the top six teams making the CAA tournament, the Huskies can clinch their spot in the postseason with three points against Delaware. The Blue Hens (7 points)Â can punch their ticket with a win, and help elsewhere in the league.
- AIN'T OVER 'TIL IT'S OVER: The Huskies have tallied six goals this season in the 80th minute or later, five of which either tied or won the game after trailing initially in the contest. The Huskies are 3-1-2 when tallying at least one goal in the 80th minute or later. The latest goal of the season came with just 2.6 seconds left on the game clock, this past Sunday against William and Mary on Senior Day. Omar Da Naia (1) tallied the game-winner.
- GIVE AND TAKE: In the last five meetings between the two teams, Northeastern holds a 1-3-1 record against Delaware - in 2021, the two teams met twice due to the rescheduled spring schedule. The Blue Hens took the spring game in double overtime, but the Huskies bounced back in the fall to edge out a 3-2 win over Delaware at Parsons.
