No. 6/5 Huskies Set for Home-and-Home with No. 13 Providence

BOSTON— The No. 6/5 Northeastern women's hockey team is set for another top-15 matchup, with a home-and-home series against No. 13 Providence on deck. The series will open at Providence on Friday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. and will then head to Matthews Arena on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.

The game on Saturday will be Northeastern's pride game. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. MURPHY'S LAW: Graduate student forward Maureen Murphy was named to USA Hockey's November roster for the upcoming Rivalry Series games on Nov. 15, 17 and 20. Murphy joins Husky alums Aerin Frankel, Kendall Coyne Schofield and Hayley Scamurra on the roster. Murphy will be making her debut with the U.S. Women's National Team in the Rivalry Series games.
  2. MONEY MUELLER: Graduate student forward Alina Mueller has continued to write her name in the record books this season. Mueller posted her 85th career assist in Hockey East play to set a new record against Maine in a 6-1 victory. The Winterthur, Switzerland native tallied her 21st career game-winning goal in a 3-0 victory over UConn to set a new program record, passing Kendall Coyne Schofield. Mueller posted her 200th career point off an assist on Murphy's goal in the 4-1 win at UConn. Mueller is just the third player in program history to reach the 200-point milestone, joining Coyne Schofield and Hillary Witt.
  3. SCOUTING THE FRIARS: Providence enters this game on a six-game winning streak, having only dropped one game this season to St. Lawrence. The Friars have four shutouts on the season so far, with goaltender Sandra Abstreiter in net for all four. Sara Hjalmarsson leads the Friars with 10 points, while Reichen Kirchmair has a team-high seven goals. Northeastern and Providence played a 1-1-1 series last season.
Up next, the Huskies will take on UNH in a home-and-home series beginning on Friday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. in Durham, N.H.
