Huskies Fall to Towson in CAA Regular Season Finale

DEDHAM, Mass. – The Northeastern field hockey team (4-13, 3-3 CAA) finished up CAA regular season play today, falling to Towson (5-12, 1-5 CAA) at Dedham Field, 4-3.
 
  • After a scoreless first period, the Huskies got on the board first, on a penalty corner goal from Mak Graves. Cailin Hart sent the ball in, Maria Armaganian set it, and Graves finished it off from just inside the top of the circle to give Northeastern a 1-0 advantage early in the second quarter.
  • The Huskies would hold the 1-0 lead heading into the halftime break.
  • Towson scored just under five minutes into the second half to tie the game at one.
  • Eight minutes later the Tigers would get another with 2:49 remaining in the third, to take a 2-1 lead into the fourth quarter.
  • The Huskies tied the game with just under five minutes remaining on a tip in from Graves for her second of the game. The assists were to Emilia Adragna and Lara Taylor.
  • Towson would score just one minute later to take a 3-2 advantage and then again on an empty night to hold a 4-2 lead with just under two minutes remaining.
  • Northeastern would fight back with a goal from Adragna on a penalty corner just 24 seconds later to make it a 4-3 game, with assists from Armaganian and Sarah Coyle.
  • The comeback effort stalled out for the Huskies in the final seconds and the Tigers came away victorious, 4-3.
 
Northeastern will be back in action to finish the regular season on Senior Day against No. 20 UMass Amherst, on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 12 p.m.
