Huskies Finish Fourth at the Head of the Housatonic

SHELTON, Conn. - The Northeastern men's rowing team opened its 2022-23 fall slate at the Head of the Housatonic on Saturday morning.
 
Facing two of the toughest teams in the nation in Yale and Brown, the Huskies' first varsity boat finished fourth overall. The Bulldogs finished second last year in the varsity eight, and the Bears finished third at the National Championships.
  • Stroked by senior Alexander Abuhoff, Northeastern's first varsity battled, finishing with a time of 13:28.8, 11 seconds behind Yale over 4,300 meters, and four seconds behind Brown over the course.
  • Yale finished first with a time of 13:17.3, and Brown finished at 13:24.1.
  • Stroked by junior Paul Phillips, Northeastern's second varsity boat finished ninth with a time of 14:06.7.
  • Northeastern's third varsity boat crossed the line at 14:33.9, and the fourth varsity boat finished at 14:49.7.
The Huskies will continue their fall campaign at the Head of the Charles on Friday, October 21 through Sunday, October 23.
