BOSTON -- The Northeastern men's basketball team returns home for the first time this season when the Huskies host Harvard on Wednesday night at Matthews Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. on NESN and FloHoops.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:Â
1. THE SERIES WITH HARVARD: The Huskies and Crimson are meeting for the 59th time, and ninth time in the last 10 seasons, with the Huskies collecting wins in three of the last four meetings. Northeastern has also won five of the last six games against Harvard at Matthews Arena.
2. HOME AGAIN, HOME AGAIN:Â Northeastern returns to Matthews Arena for the first of three home games on the non-conference slate. Since the 2014-15 season, the Huskies are 23-5 (.821) at home against non-conference opponents, including a 4-1 mark last season.
3. ACROSS THE POND: After traveling to Syracuse later this week, the Huskies will head to London, England to compete in the first annual 'London Basketball Classic' on Thanksgiving weekend. Games will take place in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, The GLL, Copperbox Arena, the London 2012 Olympic basketball venue. Northeastern will take on Manhattan on November 24 before tipping off with either Army or Princeton two days later.
"As a program, we are always looking to play a competitive non-conference schedule that prepares our team for the rigors of league play," said head coach
Bill Coen. "To have the opportunity to do that at the 2022 London Basketball Classic, as well as provide our student-athletes with a once-in-a-lifetime global experience, is an opportunity that they will never forget." Â
