No. 18/16 Huskies Tackle The No. 11/9 Terriers This Weekend

BOSTON — The No. 18/16 Northeastern Huskies are set for their third home-and-home series of the season as they take on the No. 11/9 Boston University Terriers. Northeastern will travel to Agganis Arena on Friday, No. 18 at 7 p.m., before facing the Terriers at Mathews Arena on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. TRACKING THE TERRIERS: Previously, the two teams have matched up 245 times in program history. This will be the only time the two teams face off this season before meeting in the opening game of the 2023 Beanpot Tournament at TD Garden. In the 2021-22 season, the two met in three contests, finishing with a 3-3 scoring margin. Northeastern finished 1-1-1, sending two of the three games to overtime.
  2. HATS OFF: Through the first twelve games this season, two Huskies have recorded their first career hat tricks in back-to-back weekends. Sophomore Justin Hryckowian tallied a hat trick in Northeastern's 6-2 win over New Hampshire on Nov. 4 at Matthews Arena. He completed the series with six points (5g, 1a) against the Wildcats. Last Friday, freshman Cam Lund picked up his first hat trick as a Husky, scoring two goals in the final three minutes of the game.
  3. DOMINANT DEFENSE: With such an explosive offense for Northeastern, who currently leads Hockey East in goals scored this season, there has been a significant impacting on scoring from the defensive end. Only six weeks into the season, 21 points have been scored by a defensive player for the Huskies. Both with five points and leading the pack is sophomore Braden Doyle (1g, 4a) and freshman Hunter McDonald (5a).
