TOWSON, MD.- Paced by a 20-kill performance from senior outside hitter
Erica Staunton, the four-seeded Northeastern volleyball team (14-12) took down five-seeded Elon (13-14) in the CAA tournament quarterfinals on Thursday afternoon at SECU Arena.

The victory was Northeastern's first quarterfinal win since 2013.

- Staunton hit .273, and also had nine digs and a block.
- Senior libero Kayla Martin notched a team-high 27 digs.
- Senior middle blocker Nailah Jenkins also had double-digit kills in the match. Jenkins finished with 12 kills on .400 hitting, and six blocks.
- Junior outside hitter Defne Arliel and senior outside hitter Evelyn Gonzalez each had five kills. Arliel was also stellar defensively with four blocks.
- Junior middle blocker Marika Virthe notched seven kills and four blocks.
- Sophomore setter Jessica Frannea dished out 39 assists and had eight digs.
- Northeastern had 11 blocks in the match, compared to Elon's five.Â
The Huskies will face top-seeded Towson in the semifinals on Friday, November 18. First serve is slated for 4 pm, and can be watched on FloVolleyball.
