Defne Arliel each notched double-doubles, but it was not enough as the Northeastern volleyball team (11-12, 8-6 CAA) fell to undefeated Hofstra (17-9, 14-0 CAA) in a tight four set battle on Sunday afternoon.

Staunton had 10 kills and 13 digs, and Arliel tallied her first double-double of the season with 11 kills and 11 digs.

Northeastern got off to a quick start in the match after winning set one. The Pride then fought back to take the next two sets to lead the match 2-1. The Huskies gave Hofstra all it can handle in a long back-and-forth fourth set, but the Pride sealed the match with a 34-32 win.

- Senior libero Kayla Martin had a team-high 15 digs and two service aces.
- Senior middle blocker Nailah Jenkins chipped in with eight kills and three blocks.
- Graduate student outside hitter Laura Seeger notched nine kills and five digs.
- Junior middle blocker Marika Virthe had six kills and three blocks.
- Sophomore setter Jessica Frannea dished out a team-high 40 assists and seven digs.
- The Huskies had set point (24-22) in the fourth set, but back-to-back errors knotted up the contest at 24. It was originally ruled that the Pride won the set (27-25) and match a few points later, but Northeastern challenged the call and the score was reversed. After being tied up at 26, the Huskies had set point five times, but Hofstra continued to fight back and ultimately hold on for the win.
The Huskies will host William and Mary on Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13 (Senior Day). First serve is slated for 2 pm on both days, and can be watched on FloVolleyball & NESN+ (Sunday).
