THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- CANADA, EH?: Senior Megan Carter was named to the December roster for Canada's National Women's Team for the 2022-23 Rivalry Series against the United States. This marks Carter's first call up with the senior national team after representing Canada in Under-18s and the National Women's Development team.
- WE PUT THE SMASH IN SMASHVILLE: The Huskies return to Matthews Arena from a Thanksgiving trip down south, where they defeated then-No. 14 Princeton, 4-1, and then-No. 9 Cornell, 5-1, to win the Smashville Showcase. This showcase marked the first time since the 2018-19 season the Huskies have taken on two separate ranked opponents in back-to-back games in the regular season.
- WHAT IS A CATAMOUNT?: The Catamounts are riding a three-game win streak and most recently defeated Dartmouth, 4-1. Natalie Mlynkova leads Vermont with 25 points off 11 goals and 14 assists, while Theresa Schafzahl has a team-high 14 goals. Graduate transfer Maude Poulin-Labelle, will be facing her former team for the first time as UVM comes to town.
The Huskies will next return to the ice in 2023, taking on Boston University on Sunday, Jan. 8 at 3 p.m. in Matthews Arena.
