Huskies Prepped For Weekend With Bentley, Harvard

BOSTON— The Northeastern men's hockey team preps for two road games this weekend, kicking off against Bentley University on Friday, Dec. 30 at Bentley Arena. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. ET and can be streamed on FloHockey. The Huskies will close their weekend with a New Year's Day contest (Sunday) with Harvard University at 4:00 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. BYE, BYE BIRDIES: Northeastern's Friday night matchup against Bentley University will be the 13th time the two teams have faced off, the fourth ever to be played at Bentley Arena for the Huskies. The Huskies have won the last four of five contests with the Falcons, with the last three straight victories coming on home ice at Matthews Arena. In the last five contests, Northeastern outscored Bentley by a 24-9 margin, since the 2016-17 season.
  2. CAMBRIDGE, HERE WE COME: The Huskies will close out the weekend with a lone contest against the Harvard University Crimson on Sunday night. This weekend's game will mark the 105th matchup between the two programs. The Huskies have won the last five of six contests with the Crimson, including three victories in the Beanpot tournament. Within the six-game stretch, Northeastern holds a 24-8 scoring margin over Harvard and recorded a 6-0 shutout in the process.
  3. YOU'RE ROOKIES, WE'RE VETS: Returning from the semester break, the Huskies are looking to build upon their victory against LIU on Dec. 18. Northeastern won, 4-3, in overtime thanks to Sam Colangelo, his second goal of the night. Justin Hryckowian led the team in scoring with three assists on the night. The Huskies veteran leadership continues to hold a presence in the team's success this season. Captain Aidan McDonough and sophomore Hryckowian are tied for the lead for both the Huskies and the Hockey East conference with 17 points apiece. McDonough (7g, 10a) continues as the active NCAA career leader in both goals (57) and power-play goals (26). Hryckowian (9g, 8a) still leads the Hockey East conference with 162 faceoff wins.
Following the weekend, the Huskies look ahead at their 2023 Frozen Fenway matchup with the UConn Huskies. The game is slated for Saturday, Jan. 7 at 2:30 p.m. on NESN.
