BOSTON -Â Junior guard
Derin Erdogan tallied a team-high 13 points, but it was not enough as the Northeastern women's basketball team (3-6) dropped a tight contest to Holy Cross (6-2), 60-55, on Saturday afternoon at the Cabot Center.
Erdogan was stellar for the Huskies, recording 11 of her points in the second half. The junior also had three rebounds and a team-high six assists.

Ariana Webb also notched double-digit points for Northeastern. Motema had 12 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Webb had a breakout game with a career-high 11 points, shooting 4-of-5 from the field, and also tallied five rebounds.
- The first quarter saw three lead changes and two ties, as the Huskies got off to a quick 6-1 advantage, highlighted by back-to-back layups by Webb. Holy Cross, though, responded back with two three-pointers to trim the deficit.
- With the score tied at 11, Holy Cross used a 7-0 run to take a 18-11 lead into the second. Â
- The Crusaders continued to extend their lead in the second, and stretched the advantage to 25-15 at the 6:03 mark. They would eventually take a match-high 12-point lead midway through the quarter.
- Five straight points from Webb down the stretch trimmed the deficit back to single digits at 30-21, but the Crusaders remained in front.
- Holy Cross was strong from long range, tallying two threes in the quarter, and had five in the first half to take a 30-23 lead into halftime.Â
- Northeastern came out hot in the third, as Erdogan and Webb immediately got the scoring started to propel the Huskies on a 10-2 run to take the lead back at 33-32.
- Erdogan continued to take over, knocking down free throws and then a three-pointer to extend Northeastern's lead to 38-34 at the 5:15 mark.Â
- Both teams traded buckets for a few minutes, until the Crusaders ended the quarter on a 5-0 run to take a slim 44-40 lead into the fourth. Â
- Holy Cross continued to push the pace in the final stanza with an 8-2 run, including six points from long range to push the lead 52-42.
- Northeastern continued to chip away at the deficit with an 8-0 run, with six points coming from the free throw line to cut the Holy Cross lead to 52-50 with 3:10 left
- Holy Cross ended a 5:10 scoring drought with a three-pointer just 17 seconds later.
- A three-pointer by sophomore guard Camille Clement had the Huskies within striking distance at 57-55 in the final seconds of the contest, but the Crusaders knocked down key free throws the rest of the way to seal the win.
- The Huskies were strong on the boards, as they outrebounded the Crusaders 41-32. Junior forward Halle Idowu led the way with a career-high 12 rebounds.
