PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Northeastern women's basketball team gave third-seeded Towson everything it could handle, taking a ten-point lead into the final frame, but the Tigers used a big late run to defeat the sixth-seeded Huskies, 58-49, in the CAA Quarterfinals.

Katie May was stellar for the Huskies, ending the game with 18 points, tying a career-high. May went 7-of-14 from the field, and 4-of 7 from deep. Senior guard
Kendall Currence also tallied double-digits with 12 points to go with eight rebounds.
- Northeastern stormed out to a 7-3 lead, highlighted by a three-pointer from Currence and a layup by graduate student forward Emily Calabrese.
- The Huskies continued to have an edge over Towson in the first, leading 11-7 at the 2:55 mark after a layup by freshman guard Gemima Motema and a jumper by May.
- Towson continued to chip away, knotting the game up at 16 at the 7:27 mark of the second.
- Back and forth play remained, as neither team led by more than two until the two minute mark. May tallied Northeastern's eight points to close the quarter, two of which were three-pointers, and the Huskies held a 29-21 advantage at halftime.
- A May layup at the 8:25 mark of the third put the Huskies up 33-23, the first double-digit lead of the contest.
- Northeastern continued to hold onto a dominating lead, and a Currence layup in the final seconds gave the Huskies a 45-35 edge going into the final quarter.
- Towson went on a 18-0 run to start the fourth, and took the lead for the first time in the contest.
- Northeastern didn't score until a Motema layup at the 1:17 mark to trim the deficit to 53-47.
- Free throws by Currence cut the Towson lead to 53-49 with 40 seconds remaining, but the Huskies didn't get any closer as time began to run out.
- Calabrese chipped in with eight points and nine rebounds.
- Currence also had eight rebounds (seven defensive).
- Junior guard Century McCartney notched a career-high seven rebounds.Â
