Gemima Motema each tallied double-digits, but it was not enough as the Northeastern women's basketball team (14-16) fell to 2021 WBI Champion Cleveland State (20-8) by a score of 73-60 on Friday night at the Clive Beck Center.

Soriano notched a team-high 17 points, and Motema had 13 points. Freshman guard
Camille Clement also had a solid game for the Huskies, finishing with nine points, which all came from beyond the arc.
- Soriano kicked off the proceedings for the Huskies, tallying a three-pointer to start the game.
- The teams traded points for most of the first, until the 5:49 mark when five straight points from Soriano put the Huskies up 12-6.
- The Vikings went on a 5-0 run to trim the lead to 14-13, but Northeastern continued to remain in front going into the second.
- Cleveland State pulled ahead 20-14 on a 7-0 run to start the quarter.
- A three by Clement trimmed the deficit to 20-19 at the 5:57 mark as the Huskies continued to chip away.
- Northeastern went on a 6-0 run to take a 25-23 lead, but the Vikings pulled back ahead.
- Cleveland State tallied a three-pointer at the buzzer, and took a 32-31 lead into halftime.
- Soriano continued her stellar shooting with a three to put the Huskies back in front, 34-32, at the 9:24 mark.
- Motema tallied the Huskies' first seven points of the quarter, and put Northeastern up 41-38 at the 7:20 mark after a layup.
- The Vikings went on a 6-0 run and didn't look back, ultimately taking a 53-45 advantage into the fourth.
- Cleveland State shot 46.2% in the final quarter to seal the win.
- Sophomore forward Leyla Ozturk, graduate student forward Emily Calabrese and junior guard Century McCartney all tallied six points.
- McCartney also had five rebounds.
The Huskies will take on Davidson at 5 pm on Saturday, March 18
th in the consolation bracket of the tournament.
