CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In the consolation game of the 31st Baseball Beanpot, Northeastern University (17-15-1) took down Harvard University (13-13) by a score of 10-6 on Tuesday afternoon at O'Donnell Field.

- Harvard notched three early runs in the opening two innings – the Crimson scored on a wild pitch in the first inning and an RBI double and throwing error in the second.
- The Huskies responded with a big top of the third inning – a leadoff double from JP Olson, and back to back walks to Buddy Mrowka and Mike Sirota loaded the bases with no outs.
- Max Viera followed up his weekend walk off with a big two-RBI single through the left side to score Olson and Mrowka to cut the lead to one run.
- After a passed balls allowed runners to advance to second and third, a fielders choice RBI by Luke Beckstein allowed Sirota to score as Viera slid into third and the ball hit him on the way to the bag.
- Northeastern took the lead in the top of the fourth – the leadoff batter Ryan Cervone reached base after being hit by a pitch and then took second on a passed ball.
- Cervone was advanced to third by a single from Mrowka, and was scored by an RBI single by Sirota to make it 4-3.
- A bunt single from Spenser Smith loaded the bases, and Viera notched his third RBI of the contest with a shallow single that scored Mrowka for the 5-3 lead.
- A two-RBI double in the bottom of the fifth tied it back up at five-all. The Crimson looked to grab a sixth run but Jeff Costello gunned down the runner attempting to score from second, giving JP Olson plenty of time to make the tag.
- Harvard retook the lead in the fifth on an RBI double, leading 6-5.
- Luke Beckstein broke the game open with a three-run homer over the left field wall to retake the lead, 8-6. He scored Viera who walked and Spenser Smith who singled up the middle.
- Beckstein extended the lead in the eighth inning on a two-RBI single once again scoring Smith and Viera who singled and walked, respectively.
- Smith, Viera, Costello, and Luke Masiuk all swiped bags in the game – Smith led the way with three, while Viera had two.
- Dennis Colleran got his first collegiate start and went 3.0 IP allowing five hits, just one earned run, while striking out two.
- He was relieved by Jake Gigliotti who eventually picked up the relief win (1-0) – he went 2.0 IP allowing seven hits and three runs.
- The trio of Nick Davis, Michael Gemma, and Thomas Balboni finished out the game for Northeastern allowing just two hits and no runs between the three of them.

With the win, the Huskies claim their ninth third-place Beanpot finish, bouncing back from their consolation loss in the 30
th Beanpot back in 2019. Northeastern is now 29-28 all-time in Beanpot games.

The Huskies will return to CAA play this weekend with a three game series at James Madison – the first game of the series is Friday, April 15 at 6 pm.
