RICHMOND, Va. – Capping off her stellar freshman campaign, Northeastern swimming and diving's
Erin Murphy was named CAA Rookie Diver of the Year, announced by the league office on Wednesday morning.
Murphy is the fourth Northeastern diver to earn the honor, joining
Elly Morrison (2019), Jacquelyn Glover (2015) and Candance Young (2011).
- Murphy impressed throughout her inaugural year, consistently improving as the season went on. The freshman notched two medals at the CAA Championships, earning bronze in the 1M Dive (265.30), and silver in the 3M Dive (285.05).
- The freshman competed at the NCAA Zone A Championships and posted scores of 235.05 on the 3M and 180.00 on the 1M.
- Broke the 1M Dive school record at the Boston Winter Open with a score of 315.70, which earned CAA Diver of the Week accolades on February 8th.
- Finished the season leading the Huskies in both the 1M Dive (312.45), and 3M Dive (315.70).
In addition to major award winners, the conference also recognized the top three finishers in each event at the CAA Championship, who are considered all-conference honorees.
- Bailey Smith – Earned silver in the 200 Back with a season-best time of 1:58.08
- Erin Murphy – Notched bronze in the 1M Dive (265.30) and silver in the 3M Dive (285.05)
- Jamie Koo – Won the 100 Fly with a time of 53.47 and notched bronze in the 50 Free with a personal-best time of 22.48
- Hannah Seward – Secured silver in the 100 Fly with a personal-best time of 53.81
- Kate Cosgrove – Earned bronze in the 100 Back with a time of 55.45
