HIGH POINT, N.C. – In game one of their weekend series, the Northeastern Huskies (18-19-1) fell to the High Point Panthers (13-26) by a score of 10-4 on Friday evening at Williard Stadium.Â

- Mike Sirota led the game off with a solo home run on the second pitch of the ballgame, his fourth homer of the season, to lead 1-0.
- High Point retaliated in the bottom of the third with an eight run outburst to lead, 8-1.
- The Huskies began to chip away at the lead in the fourth inning – a sacrifice fly by JP Olson scored Max Viera from third and a bases loaded wild pitch scored Luke Beckstein to cut the lead to 8-3.
- In the top of the sixth, Northeastern notched a fourth run an another bases-loaded wild pitch – this time it was Olson running home from third, to cut it to 8-4.
- High Point answered back in the bottom of the frame with a sac-fly to make it 9-4.
- The Panthers tacked on another in the seventh on a wild pitch.
- Northeastern's pitching staff was led by Michael Gemma who worked a team-high 3.0 IP with one hit, one run, and three Ks on the evening.
- It was just the second night game this season for the Huskies - the first was last Friday's contest with JMU.
 The two teams face off again Saturday night with another 6pm first pitch. The game will stream on ESPN+.
