O'Connor Ties School Record, Huskies Complete First Day of Competition in Florida and Rhode Island

BOSTON –
 Dametrius O'Connor tied the outdoor school record in the men's 200-meter dash with a third place and personal-best time of 20.94 to lead the Northeastern track and field teams on Friday at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational, South Florida Invitational and Friar Invitational.
 
South Florida Invitational
  • The men's 4x100 meter relay team, comprised of Noah Sweeney, Ethan Exilhomme, Dametrius O'Connor and Donatien Djero, placed second in the event with the sixth-best outdoor time in program history (40.34).
  • Djero championed the men's 100-meter dash with a time of 10.19. Djero's time is the fastest all-conditions mark at Northeastern and a probable NCAA qualifier. 
  • In the men's 110-meter hurdles, Mayowa Osunsami placed second with a time of 14.10 and Ethan Exilhomme came in ninth with a time of 14.51. 
Hurricane Alumni Invitational
  • Abigail Klinge finished in fifth place in the women's discus throw with the ninth-best mark in school history (43.14m/141-6).
  • Nicholas Pisciotta finished seventh in the men's hammer throw with a mark of 58.55 meters (192-1).
  • On the first day of the women's heptathlon, Dominique Biron placed second in the high jump (1.72m/5-7.75, PB) and shot put (11.59m/35-8.5), finished fifth in the 200 meter (25.44, PB) and sixth in the 100-meter hurdles (14.35, PB) 
Friar Invitational
  • Alexander Korczynski won the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:53.25.
  • In the women's 800 meters, Tessa McClain placed fourth with the sixth-best outdoor time in school history (2:11.23, PB).
  • In the men's 800 meters, Nicholas Young placed fourth (1:53.56) and Pierre Sylvain finished eighth (1:54.10).
  • Azza Borovicka-Swanson finished ninth in the women's mile with a career-best time of 4:58.89. On the men's side, Bryan Keller finished 15th with a time of 4:07.65.
  • Benjamin Godish placed seventh in the men's 5,000 meter with the 10th best outdoor time in school history (14:13.95, PB).
