STORRS, Conn. – In a midweek non-conference matchup, the Northeastern Huskies (26-22-1), took down the number 8/13-ranked  Connecticut Huskies (40-9) by a score of 9-4 on Tuesday evening at Elliot Park.

- UConn tallied the first runs of the game with a sac-fly and RBI single in the first to lead 2-0.
- Connecticut tallied another run in each of the second and third innings on sacrifice flies to lead 4-0.
- Northeastern bats came to life in the top of the fourth with a six-run go-ahead inning. All runs came with the bases loaded – they were originally loaded from a Corey DiLoreto single, and walks to Luke Beckstein and JP Olson.
- Danny Crossen hit a single to center field advancing all runners one base, scoring DiLoreto.
- Spenser Smith hit a line drive single to right field to score Beckstein.
- With two outs in the inning, Justin Bosland smashed a 1-0 count over the right field wall for his first career grand slam, and second career home run. NU led 6-4 after the fourth.
- The Huskies extended their lead in the eighth tallying three runs in the inning – RBI singles from Danny Crossen, Luke Masiuk, and Justin Bosland put Northeastern up 9-4.
- In relief, Jake Gigliotti earned the win and is 2-1 on the season. He pitched 2.2 innings allowing one run on three hits, with a strikeout.
- Owen Langan took over in the fifth and went 3.0 IP with just one hit allowed, no runs, and two K's.
- Jordy Allard closed out the last two innings with no hits, runs, or walks, and recorded the final out of the game via strikeout.
- The win was the Huskies' fifth victory over a ranked opponent this season as they split the season series with UConn 1-1.

The Huskies will play their last home CAA series this coming weekend as they host the UNCW Seahawks Friday through Sunday, May 13-15. Game times are scheduled for 2pm Friday, and 1pm Saturday and Sunday. Friday's game will broadcast on NESN, all three games will stream on FloBaseball. As the last home game of the season, Sunday will also be Senior Day.
