BROOKLINE, Mass. – In the series finale, the Northeastern Huskies (26-25-1, 9-12 CAA) fell to the UNCW Seahawks (29-21, 13-8 CAA) by a score of 7-4 on Sunday afternoon at Friedman Diamond.
Another back and forth battle between the two ballclubs was tied until the top of the eighth inning as the Huskies honored their four graduating seniors on Senior Day.

- The Seahawks tallied the first runs of the game for the first time all weekend, tallying two runs on three walks in the opening inning.
- Northeastern answered back with a go-ahead three run inning in the second – Danny Crossen led off the inning with a single up the middle, followed by back to back singles from Luke Beckstein and Justin Bosland to load the bases.
- Back to back RBI singles from Teddy Beaudet and Spenser Smith gave the Huskies a 3-2 lead after two.
- An RBI double and throwing error tallied another two runs for UNCW, as the Seahawks retook the lead 4-3.
- In the bottom of the fifth, Corey DiLoreto stretched a double and was advanced to third on a ground out before Danny Crossen hit him home to tie the game at 4-4.
- UNCW took the lead in the top of the eighth with a three run shot to left field to lead 7-4.
- All four seniors for Northeastern saw action in the game with Beaudet, DiLoreto, and Jeff Costello all in the starting lineup, and Owen Langan made his longest career relief appearance at 3.1 IP, allowing four hits and one walk, but no runs and two K's.
The Huskies will travel for one more non-conference matchup this Tuesday, May 17 when they face UMass Lowell at 1pm at Lelacheur Park. Northeastern wraps up the CAA schedule with a road trip to Delaware this coming Thursday through Friday to face the Blue Hens at Bob Hannah Stadium.Â
