Men's Basketball Alums Sign Professional Contracts Overseas

BOSTON – Several former members of the Northeastern men's basketball team have signed professional contracts to continue their playing careers overseas, with Matt Janning and Scott Eatherton to play in Japan and Jordan Roland and Quirin Emanga in Germany.
 
Matt Janning - Kawasaki Brave Thunders (B1 League in Japan)
• Ranks fourth in all-time scoring for the Huskies with 1,836 points and third in three-point field goals (223)
• Two-time All-CAA First Team selection (2009 and 2010) as well as a 3x CAA All-Academic Second Team selection 
• Recipient of the 2010 Herbert Gallagher Award as Northeastern's top senior scholar-athlete 
• Named 2007 CAA Rookie of the Year, a part of the High-Major All-Freshman Team by Collegehoops.net, First-Team NABC All-District 10 in 2009, and earned 2009 CAA Most Valuable Player
• Finished off his senior year earning USBWA All-District I Team, Collegeinsider.com Lou Henson Mid-Major All-America Team, and Collegehoops.net Mid-Major All-America Fourth Team
 
Scott Eatherton - Nagoya Diamond Dolphins (B1 League in Japan)
• Played two seasons for the Huskies, starting in all 67 games he played in
• Two-time All-Conference Team, All-Defensive Team, and All-Tournament Team selection
• Won the 2014 CAA Defensive Player of the Year in his first season at Northeastern
• Led the team in scoring and rebounding in both of his seasons (2013-2014: 15.9 PPG and 10.2 RPG; 2014-2015: 14.7 PPG and 6.4 RPG)
• Finished his career with the best shooting percentage in program history (56.6%)
 
Jordan Roland - Rostock Seawolves (Germany BBL) 
• Played two seasons for the Huskies, playing a total of 67 games starting in 57 of them
• In the 2018-2019 season, he posted double-digit points in all CAA Tournament games to help the Huskies win the CAA Conference Tournament and punch a ticket to the Big Dance as well as being named to the All-CAA Third Team
• Named New England Player of the Year (2020), NABC All-District 10 First Team (2020), All-CAA First Team (2020), and USBWA All-District (2020)
• During his final season, he was also named to the Oscar Robertson Trophy Watchlist by USBWA and at one point during the season checked in at No. 25 on the ESPN.com list of top players in the country
• Roland broke the single-game scoring record with 42 points against Harvard, and currently holds a program-best free throw percentage (.890) as well as the single-season record in three-pointers made (99)
 
Quirin Emanga - TKS 49ers (Germany ProB League)
• Played a total of 69 games for the Huskies, making 16 starts
• In his collegiate debut against Holy Cross in 2019, he scored a total of five points going 2-of-4 from the field, 1-of-3 from three, and added on five rebounds and two steals to his performance
• Led the team in three-point percentage (.387) in his sophomore season
• His career-best at Huntington Ave. came against Hofstra during the 2020-2021 season, tallying 14 points shooting 2-of-4 from long range
• Recorded 13 points against No. 8 West Virginia, shooting a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line during that game
