BOSTON— Head coach
Ashley Phillips of the Northeastern women's soccer team has announced the captains that will lead the team for the 2022 season.
Angeline Friel will serve as captain, while
Sydney Fisher and
Alexis Legowski will serve as assistant captains.
"We're pleased with teams' selection of this year's captains," remarked Phillips. "Each of them embodies excellent leadership qualities that have been evident through the first week of training. They are all highly motivated individuals that possess the ability to inspire their peers. We're looking forward to leading the program with this incredible group of young women and players."
Friel was an assistant captain last season, while Legowski and Fisher are first-time captains at Northeastern. They all helped lead Northeastern to a CAA Championship appearance last season and will look to build on that success this coming season.
The Huskies will open their 2022 slate at Boston University on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. and will host Boston College for their home opener at Parsons Field on Sunday, Aug. 21 at 1 p.m.
