BOSTON— The Northeastern women's soccer team is set to open play for the 2022 season at Boston University on Thursday, Aug. 18 with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. The Huskies will then host Boston College for their home opener at Parsons Field on Sunday, Aug. 21 at 1 p.m.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. The Season Before The Season: Alexis Legowski and Faith Rosenblatt were each selected to the CAA Preseason All-Conference team. During the 2021 season, Legowski earned All-CAA Second Team, NEWISA All-New England Second Team and USC All-East Region Third Team honors. Rosenblatt earned CAA All-Rookie team honors in 2021, while starting all 19 games for the Huskies. Additionally, the Huskies were selected to finish third in the preseason poll, behind UNCW and Hofstra.
  2. Oh Captains, My Captains: Head coach Ashley Phillips, who is entering her seventh season at the helm, named Angeline Friel captain ahead of the 2022 season. Legowski and Sydney Fisher will serve as assistant captains.
  3. Season Openers: The Huskies are hunting for their first win over Boston University and their first season-opening victory since 2018 on Thursday. Additionally, Northeastern will be looking for their first win against the Eagles in program history on Sunday.
