ALBANY, N.Y. - The Northeastern field hockey team dropped a non-conference matchup with UAlbany 5-2 today at Alumni Field in Albany, N.Y.Â
After falling behind 1-0 three minutes into the contest, freshman
Emilia Adragna tied the game late in the second quarter.
Cailin Hart and
Sarah Coyle were credited with the assists. Â
The Great Danes scored with less than 30 seconds remaining in the first half to take a 2-1 lead into the break. Â
After a scoreless third frame, UAlbany extended their lead early in the fourth to 3-1. About a minute later, freshman
Emmy Stubbs answered to cut the deficit to one with just over 13 minutes left. Adragna tallied her first career assist on the play. Â
The Great Danes would close out the game with two more goals to provide the 5-2 final score. Â
Adragna (one goal, one assist) and Stubbs (one goal) both recorded their first career goals with the Huskies. Â
Jonna Kennedy finished with 11 saves on the day. Â
The Huskies will return for their season opener next Sunday, Sep. 4, at 12 p.m., against Stonehill College. The game will be streamed on FloSports.Â
