DEDHAM, Mass. - The Northeastern field hockey team (1-5, 0-0 CAA) dropped a non-conference matchup with Maine (4-3, 0-0 AE) today at Dedham Field, 4-2.
-
After a scoreless first quarter, the Black Bears rattled off three goals in five-minute span to take a 3-0 into the halftime break.
-
Wasting no time, the Huskies scored just 22 seconds into the second half. After a loose ball bounced around in front of the cage for a few moments, Mak Graves tapped it just past the goal line to get Northeastern on the board.
-
With just under 13 minutes remaining in the contest, Graves found the back of the net again after a great individual effort from Emilia Adragna to set up the score.
-
Maine would score the game's final goal to provide the 4-2 result on a penalty stroke.
-
Graves scored her third and fourth goals of the season and Maya Prasad recorded her first career defensive save to keep the Huskies in the game.
The Huskies will turn around and host No. 15 Harvard at Dedham Field on Sep. 20 at 6 p.m. The game will be streaming on FloSports.
