THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- Weekly Winners: Goalkeeper Holland Stam and midfielder Ava Nace were named Co-Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively. It was the first weekly honor for Northeastern this season, and the first of Stam and Nace's careers. Stam recorded back-to-back shutout victories for the Huskies, while Nace scored the game-winning goal in the 88th minute against UConn. Nace was also named to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week honorable mention.
- A Look at Fairfield: The Huskies are 1-0 all-time against Fairfield, with the only meeting between the two teams coming last season. The Stags are 4-1 on the season, with their only loss of the season coming at Princeton. Elle Scott is Fairfield's leading scorer with two goals on the season and one assist for five points.
- Scouting the Bears: Brown is the first ranked opponent the Huskies will see this season. Northeastern owns a 1-8-0 record against Brown all-time, with the Huskies only win coming during the 2010 season. Brown is off to a 4-0 start and will face Ohio State on Thursday before traveling to Parsons Field.Â
Northeastern will open CAA play at Elon on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m.
