STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Jahmyl Telfort and
Masai Troutman had 20 points apiece, and the Northeastern men's basketball team (8-10, 4-3) shot 71% in the second half to run away from Stony Brook (7-12, 3-3) on Thursday night at Island Federal Credit Union Arena, 79-66.

Northeastern finished the night a season-best 26-of-44 (59%) overall and 65% (13-of-20) from three-point range, ending the game a perfect 9-of-9 from the floor and 10-of-10 from the line.

Troutman's big night marked a new career-high for the rookie to go along with a game-high seven rebounds, while Telfort reached 20 points for the eighth time this season on 6-of-12 shooting (6-of-6 FT). They were joined in double figures by
Joe Pridgen, who finished with 15 points (13 in the second half), while
Glen McClintock added eight points, six rebounds and five assists.

The Huskies controlled the glass on the night, 29-19, outrebounding their opponent for the ninth time in the last 11 games, and had a season-high 19 assists on 26 made field goals.

Stony Brook was led by Frankie Policelli's 22 points on 9-of-12 from the field, while Tyler Stephenson Moore and Toby Onyekonwu had 14 points apiece as the Seawolves finished the game 24-of-53 overall and 6-of-17 from long range.

• It was an evenly played opening half with neither squad leading by more than seven before the Seawolves took a one-point lead into the break, 32-21.

• Troutman and Telfort were the story for Northeastern, scoring 10 points apiece for a Huskies team that was 11-of-23 overall and 5-of-9 from deep over the opening 20 minutes.

• Pollicelli, though, had an answer at nearly every turn for Stony Brook (13-of-29 overall in the first half), finishing the half with 15 points on 6-of-9 from the floor.

• Northeastern got to work quickly in the second half, opening on a 7-2 run to take a lead that it wouldn't relinquish.

• The Seawolves hung in it for the first 10 minutes of the second half, keeping it within six before a barrage of threes from Troutman, Pridgen and McClintock ballooned the Northeastern lead back up to 15, its largest of the night.

• Northeastern's unconscious shooting continued down the stretch as Pridgen and McClintock went 7-of-7 in the second half to set up a 10-of-10 showing from the charity stripe to keep the lead in hand.
