THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- GWYN-YTHING IS POSSIBLE: Senior Gwyneth Philips leads the nation in wins (21), GAA (.80), save percentage (.962) and shutouts (8). She was named to the Hockey Commissioner Association's Women's Goalie of the Year Watchlist. Philips owns a 21-2-1 record this season and was named Hockey East Player of the Week after posting back-to-back shutouts against Boston College and Maine. The Athens, Ohio native has yet to allow a goal in 2023 and has posted three straight shutouts.
- FOUR WHEEL DRIVE: Graduate students Alina Mueller, Chloé Aurard and Maureen Murphy and senior Katy Knoll are the four top leading scorers in Hockey East play. Mueller has a league-best 31 points in 20 conference games, while Knoll leads all players with 14 goals. Aurard has posted 27 points, the second-best mark in conference and Murphy has tallied 23 points in just 15 league games for the third-best mark, tied with Knoll. Â
- SERIES WRAP UP: The Huskies are set to close out their three-game Hockey East series with Merrimack and Vermont this weekend. Northeastern defeated Merrimack 5-0 and 4-1 earlier this season. Additionally, the Huskies swept UVM 3-1 and 5-1 in Matthews Arena in December.
Northeastern will next return home to face Holy Cross on Friday, Jan. 27 at 6 p.m. for Beach Night.
