BOSTON – Northeastern men's rowing Interim Head Coach
Alex Perkins has announced the 2023 spring schedule on Monday. The slate features three dual races at home, and includes road trips to Redwood Shores, California and Providence.
"The team has been training hard this winter, and we are excited for the coming spring racing season!" said Perkins. "We will be racing our traditional opponents, as well as traveling to the west coast to compete out of conference. The team is excited to get things going, and we look forward to testing our speed."
The Huskies are coming off a stellar spring season in 2022, that was highlighted by a first varsity upset over Stanford at the Pac-12 Invitational. Northeastern also picked up dual wins over UPenn, BU, and Wisconsin. The Huskies finished the season strong at IRA's as the first varsity finished second in the petite final (eighth overall), the second varsity won the third level final, and the varsity four finished third in the petite final (ninth overall).
Northeastern will kick off its spring slate on Saturday, March 25 at UPenn. The Huskies will then host rival Boston University on Saturday, April 1.
The Huskies will head west for the Pac-12 Invitational on Saturday, April 8 through Sunday, April 9. At the invitational, Northeastern will face a trio of tough opponents including 2022 National Champion California, and Stanford. The Huskies then will remain on the road to face Brown on Saturday, April 15.
Northeastern will close the regular season at home against Harvard and Wisconsin on Saturday, April 29 and Sunday, April 30.
Eastern Sprints will be held on Sunday, May 15 in Worcester, Massachusetts, and IRA's will be on Friday, June 2 through Sunday, June 4.
