Derin Erdogan tallied a team-high 21 points, but visiting Towson (12-7, 6-2 CAA) used a big first quarter to defeat the Northeastern women's basketball team (9-9, 4-3 CAA), 73-67, on Friday evening at the Cabot Center.

Erdogan had a stellar night, shooting 7-of-16 from the field, and went 6-of-6 from charity stripe. The junior also had a team-high five assists. Sophomore

JaMiya Braxton also tallied double-digits in the contest. Motema had 15 points, and Braxton had 10 points, marking her fifth straight game with double-figures.

Senior Anissa Rivera led Towson with 16 points, going 6-of-11 from the field, and 4-of-9 from three. The Tigers shot 48.1% (13-of-27) from three and 48.2% (27-of-56) overall in the contest.
- The visitors got off to a quick 12-4 lead at the 6:18 mark of the first, and they didn't look back. The opening quarter was dominated by Towson, as the Tigers were stellar from beyond the arc, shooting 66.7% (4-of-6) from long range to take a commanding 26-14 advantage into the second.
- Towson continued to be strong from three-point range in the second, ballooning its lead to 32-16 at the 7:13 mark.
- Three free throws by Braxton trimmed the deficit to 34-20 a few minutes later, but the visitors responded right back with a three to take back the momentum.
- Northeastern struggled offensively in the quarter, shooting 20% (3-of-15) and trailed 39-26 going into halftime.
- The Huskies began to chip away in the third, trimming the deficit down to 10, but Towson remained ahead. Junior Deja Bristol tallied a layup to cut the Tigers' advantage to 44-34 at the 6:09 mark, but the visitors responded back with five straight points.
- Northeastern wouldn't go away though, as the Huskies went on a 7-0 run late to trim the deficit back to single digits at 49-41.
- In the last two minutes of the quarter, junior Jaelyn Batts tallied a jumper and Braxton knocked down a three to put the game within reach at 52-46 heading into the final frame.
- Towson started off with a 4-0 run in the fourth, but the Huskies notched the next six points, highlighted by a layup by Erdogan at the 7:22 mark to trim the deficit to 56-52.
- The Tigers went on an 8-0 run at the midway point of the quarter to extend their lead back up to double-digits at 66-53, but the Huskies continued to fight back.
- With two minutes remaining, Northeastern went on a 10-0 run, highlighted by a long three-pointer by Braxton with 23 seconds left to make it a two-point game at 69-67.
- Towson knocked down crucial free throws in the final seconds, to ultimately seal the win.
- The Huskies led in nearly every statistical category including points in the paint (26-18), points off turnovers (20-18), and bench points (32-15).
