BOSTON—The Northeastern field hockey team (5-6, 1-1 CAA) battled until double overtime but fell at Boston University (5-5, 1-1 Patriot) Sunday afternoon at New Balance Field.
- The Huskies' got on the board in the first quarter off freshman forward Alex Mega's sixth goal of the season. She redirected a pass from senior forward Mak Graves to take a 1-0 lead.
- The Terriers scored twice in a row, once in the second quarter and once in the third quarter, earning a 2-1 lead.
- Junior midfielder Maria Armaganian provided the equalizer in the third quarter, tipping in a shot from sophomore back Emilia Adragna with 8:54 left in the period for her second goal of the year.
- The final goal came in double overtime for the Terriers.
- Junior goalkeeper Kristina Merashoff made five saves in the cage and the Huskies earned eight corners compared the Terriers' seven.
Up next, the Huskies will return home Friday, Oct. 6 to take on the Delaware Blue Hens in a CAA matchup. Pass back is at 3 p.m. and will be streaming on NESN/NESN+ and FloSports.
