WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J.—The Northeastern Huskies field hockey team (6-7, 2-2 CAA) scored three times in the fourth quarter, but fell 5-3 at Monmouth (9-4, 4-0 CAA) Friday afternoon at So Sweet A Cat Field.
- Senior forward Mak Graves scored the first goal for the Huskies off a rebound on a corner at 1:57 in the fourth quarter. It was her fourth goal of the season.
- The second goal came from junior forward Lilly Smith, who put one in off a deflection from graduate student back Lauren Rowe. It was Smith's third of the year and Rowe's 19th point, which ranks third in the conference.
- With 13 seconds left, senior forward Sarah Coyle put a backhanded effort into the back of the cage to make it 5-3, her third goal of the year. Graves picked up the assist.
- The Hawks scored in each quarter, getting out to an early 2-0 lead in the first and then scoring once in the remaining three quarters. Their final goal came on an empty cage.
