Lauren Rowe each scored a goal to lead the Northeastern field hockey (8-8, 3-2 CAA) to a 2-1 victory over the Maine Black Bears (7-10, 3-4 America East) Sunday afternoon at the UMaine Field Hockey Complex.
- The Black Bears got on the board in the first minute of the game and held a 1-0 lead going into the second quarter.
- Northeastern responded as Pappas used her stick to punch home a deflected shot from senior forward Lauryn Wojcik and junior midfielder Lara Taylor, tying the game at 1-1 going into the half.
- The second goal came from Rowe on a corner, after her bouncing shot found the back of the cage. It was her eighth goal of the year and it was assisted by freshman forward Alex Mega and graduate student back Cailin Hart.
- Junior goaltender Kristina Merashoff was solid in net, making seven saves in her eighth win of the year.
- After the half, the Huskies outshot Maine 17-7 and had five penalty corners compared to the Black Bears' two. Sophomore back Emilia Adragna led the team in shots with six.
