DEDHAM, Mass. — The Northeastern Huskies field hockey team (8-9, 3-3 CAA) took the lead twice but ultimately fell in double overtime to the Drexel Dragons (13-5, 4-2 CAA) in the regular season finale Friday afternoon at Dedham Field.
- The Huskies scored the first goal in the second quarter as senior forward Sarah Coyle took a pass from senior forward Mak Graves and slotted it home for her sixth goal of the season.
- Northeastern also got a goal from graduate student back Lauren Rowe in the third quarter to take a 2-1 lead. She was assisted by junior back Maria Armaganian as Rowe earned her ninth tally of the year, tied for first on the Huskies.
- Senior goaltender Sydney Rusnock got her first career start in net, playing 45 minutes and making five saves.
- The Huskies honored Coyle, Rowe, Rusnock, senior Lauryn Wojcik and graduate student Cailin Hart for Senior Day.
Next, the Huskies have earned the No. 4 seed going into the CAA Tournament next Friday, Nov. 3 and will play No. 1 Monmouth at 1 p.m. in Newark, Delaware.
