RICHMOND, Va. - Northeastern University junior forward
Tobias Wangerud has been named the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Offensive Player of the Week, announced Monday morning, after a two-goal performance against Big 10 foe Rutgers on Saturday.
Wangerud notched his first brace as a Husky, tallying Northeastern's first two goals in a 4-4 draw with Rutgers this past Saturday at Parsons Field. His goals came in the 45th minute, just 10 seconds before halftime, and in the 70th minute, answering a Rutgers go-ahead goal just minutes earlier. Both goals equalized the game, in which the Huskies came from behind three times to draw with the Scarlet Knights.
The goals were Wangerud's second and third of the season, his fifth and sixth as a Husky.
The Huskies have two regular season games left on the docket, traveling to Merrimack College Tuesday evening, October 24, for a 7 p.m. match up, and hosting Hofstra on Senior Night this Saturday, October 28 at 6 p.m.
