BOSTON - The Northeastern Huskies (3-4-3, 1-2-2 CAA) play host to a pair of contests this Saturday, October 7 and Tuesday, October 10 at Parsons Field in Brookline. The Huskies will host CAA foe Elon on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. followed by non-conference opponent Bryant on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Both games will stream on FloFC, while Tuesday's game will be simulcast on NESN+.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- FIGHTING THE PHOENIX: The Huskies hold a 3-6-2 record all-time against the Phoenix, after taking a 2-1 victory from Elon early last season on the road. Elon comes into the weekend with a 0-3-1 CAA record, after finishing last season as the regular season CAA champs, earning an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
- MALIA'S GAME: The Huskies will be honoring the life of Malia Jusczyk, daughter of NU Soccer alum Glen Jusczyk, with 'Malia's Game' on Saturday. Malia was diagnosed at a very young age with neuroblastoma and pediatric cancer. Sadly, she was taken from us far too soon this past summer at the age of 14. The 'For Kids Sake' Foundation was launched in 2011, inspired by Malia's strength and passion, to help families with children like Malia get through their fight with pediatric cancer.
- TALK ABOUT THE BULLDOGS: For the second straight Tuesday, the Huskies will host a non-conference team on the cusp of the Top 25. Last Tuesday it was the UNH Wildcats, just outside the polls receiving votes - this Tuesday, October 10, it's the Bryant Bulldogs, who have been receiving votes in the last two United Soccer Coaches polls. Bryant enters the weekend at 9-1-1 overall, 0-1-1 in America East. Tuesday's home game will also be the second straight game supporting a special cause, serving as the team's Breast Cancer Awareness "I Play For..." game.
The Huskies head back on the road for their next CAA contest at Monmouth next Saturday, October 14 at 7 p.m.
