Northeastern To Spend Thanksgiving Weekend At RPI

BOSTON -- The Northeastern Huskies will spend the Thanksgiving weekend in New York as they take a break from Hockey East action for two games with RPI. Northeastern will play on both Saturday (Nov. 25) and Sunday (Nov. 26) at 3 p.m. ET.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. AGAINST THE ENGINEERS : The Huskies have won the last four out of five meetings with the Engineers, outscoring them 14-7. Two of these victories include a 3-2 overtime victory en route to a perfect 2-0 record at the 2018 Catamount Cup in Vermont, in addition to a 5-1 win at the 2008 RPI Tournament. During the 2021-22 season, junior Matt Choupani led the Huskies in scoring against the Engineers, recording one goal and two assists in two games. Assistant captain Matt DeMelis also tallied two assists in the series with RPI.
  2. FRESHMEN FRENZY: Last time out, Northeastern faced off against the University of New Hampshire this past weekend. In game one, freshman Andy Moore recorded his first collegiate point with an assist on the Huskies opening goal. Moore is the third Husky to record his first career point this season, joining freshmen Michael Fisher and Dylan Hryckowian.

  3. HUSKIES IN HOCKEY EAST: Among all Hockey East skaters, two Huskies find themselves ranked among the top-10 in various categories. Junior captain Justin Hryckowian sits in second with a 78.6 faceoff-win percentage and senior assistant captain Gunnarwolfe Fontaine is tied for fourth in power-play goals (2).
