THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES: The Huskies and Eagles are a part of the Gloucester 400th Year Celebration in this neutral site matchup. Former Olympic coach Ben Smith organized getting the Hockey East game up to Gloucester. This meeting marks the first time since the 2018-19 season in the Beanpot at Harvard that the two programs have met in a neutral site match, BC won that game 4-1.
- KILLING IT: Northeastern's penalty killing unit ranks third in the nation and first in Hockey East with a .940 penalty killing percentage. Additionally, the Huskies have scored twice while shorthanded. Fifth year Katy Knoll is tied to lead all Hockey East forwards with 24 blocks on the season and is a key cog in the Huskies'Â PK unit.
- SCOUTING THE EAGLES: The Huskies swept the 2022-23 series with the Eagles, winning five games and allowing just one goal. In five games against the Eagles last season, Knoll returns as the Huskies leading scorer with three goals and one assist. Fifth year Gwyneth Philips posted five wins and four shutouts against BC, averaging a 0.20 GAA and .991 save percentage. Three players are tied to lead BC with 12 points, while Abby Newhook has a team-high seven goals. Julia Pellerin leads all Hockey East rookies with 12 points. Goaltender Grace Campbell has started all 15 games in goal and owns a 2.81 GAA and .909 save percentage.
Northeastern will next face Providence to close out the three-game Hockey East series with the Friars on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 5 p.m. in Matthews Arena.
