Northeastern Hosts Providence For Tuesday Tilt

BOSTON— Coming off a 3-1 victory over then-No. 14 Boston College, the Northeastern women's hockey team will host the Providence College Friars on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 5 p.m. in Matthews Arena. The game will be available on ESPNU and TSN5.

Northeastern will be collecting toys for The Wonderfund, a non-profit supporting children and teens in foster care. Please consider donating new, unwrapped toys in the main lobby. 
 
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. ON THE 'U': Northeastern appeared in two games that aired on ESPNU last season, going 2-0-0. The Huskies defeated Boston College, 4-0, in the regular season and took down Providence, 4-1 in the Hockey East title game. This matchup marks the only Hockey East regular season women's game that will air on ESPNU.
  2. CLOSING TIME: Northeastern has scored 17 goals in third periods this season. The Huskies are outscoring opponents, 17-8 in the final frame and are 7-0-0 when recording a goal in the third frame. Peyton Anderson has tallied five of her team-high nine goals in the third period.
  3. SCOUTING THE FRIARS: Northeastern and Providence enter Tuesday's matchup having split the first two games of a three-game Hockey East slate. Northeastern won the first game 6-1 at home and fell to the Friars 3-1 on the road. Freshman Allie Lalonde is the Huskies leading scorer through two games against the Friars. Lalonde has tallied two goals and one assist for three points, all coming in the 6-1 win at home. In goal, Gwyneth Philips is averaging a 2.03 GAA and .920 save percentage against PC. The Huskies have not dropped in a home game to the Friars since a 2-1 overtime loss on Feb. 14, 2020. Providence enters this game riding a two-game winning streak, taking down BU, 2-1, and Brown, 1-0. Audrey Knapp leads PC with seven points, while Hope Walinski and Mireille Kingsley have split time in net. Walinski owns a 2.67 GAA and .898 save percentage and Kingsley has a 2.34 GAA and .898 save percentage. 
The Huskies will close out 2023 at Boston University on Friday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m.
