BOSTON -- The 104th season of Northeastern basketball commences on Monday night when the Huskies host crosstown rival Boston University. Tip-off at Matthews Arena is set for 8 p.m. and the game will be aired on NESN+ and FloHoops.

1. THE SERIES WITH THE TERRIERS
Northeastern and Boston University are meeting for the 151st time in series history, with the all-time series tied, 75-75. Northeastern has won six of the last nine meetings between the two teams, including four of the last five meetings at Matthews Arena.

2. HOME AGAIN, HOME AGAIN
Northeastern returns to Matthews Arena for the first of three home games on the non-conference slate. Since the 2014-15 season, the Huskies are 25-6 (.806) at home against non-conference opponents, including a 2-1 mark last season.

3. DOHERTY COLLECTS ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS

Chris Doherty was named to All-CAA Preseason Honorable Mention at the conference's annual Media Day on Oct. 19. Doherty, entering his fourth season with the Huskies, appeared in 24 games, including 20 starts, during the 2022-23 campaign. After missing five games with an injury early in the year, Doherty responded by averaging 8.9 points per game, good for second on the team, on 54% shooting over the course of the season.

The Marlborough, Mass. native led the team with 137 rebounds (5.7 rpg), including three games with 10+ boards, and was ninth in the CAA with three double-doubles. He was third on the team with 17 blocks, and started 15 of the 17 games he played in league play, averaging 9.2 points and 5.9 rebounds.Â
